iLIMB Touch Bionics
Electronic prosthetic hands are known as myoelectric prostheses. One example of this is the i-LIMB by Touch Bionics. This hand communicates with electrodes in the socket placed directly against the skin. Flexing the muscle against the electrode signals the hand to open or close. The i-LIMB is a recent invention, and the only myoelectric prosthetic hand to offer all five separately moving fingers.
